Parsons is now hiring experienced Engineers with a desire to work on the High Speed Rail Construction Package #1 from Madera to Fresno. We need our engineers to be versatile, enthusiastic to work in highly flexible, team oriented environment and who have exceptional communication, analytical and organizational skills. In this role, you will perform a variety of engineering tasks by applying standard engineering techniques and analyses within a discipline, which may involve CAE (computer aided engineering)/CAD (computer aided design) applications. Willingness to travel or relocate to supplier, client, or construction site locations is expected.
Project Specific Responsibilities:
This role is primarily utility related, and experience with roadway design is very helpful since these utilities cross with roadway and drainage disciplines regularly. Must be able to work in a fast past setting where designs are working around challenging conflicts that must be resolved to enter construction. This position will coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams and will need to work with various other team members and have opportunities to direct staff and review work completed by others.
Work will also involve reviewing and tracking RFIs (Request For Information), DCNs (Design Change Notices) and FCNs (Field Change Notices) and keeping the contractor's plan set up to date, prior to the start of construction.
Duties include maintaining field plans with redlines to produce final as-built drawings after construction. This Engineer will oversee a group of junior engineers and sub consultants/contractors with a variety of tasks: Quality control checks for verification and validation, conflict resolution, review submittals to multiple approving agencies, and resolution of comments between multiple stakeholders.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or related field) and 3+ years of related work experience
Engineer in Training (EIT) Certificate required
PE license preferred
Working knowledge of CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering - Civil 3D preferred
