Job Description:

Audit Manager (Vehicle Inspection Compliance)

Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

Parsons is seeking an Audit Manager with the Pennsylvania Emissions Team to support our inspection compliance project with the Pennsylvania DOT. The successful candidate will manage a team of field auditors who audit vehicle inspection stations within Pennsylvania, which must meet annual contractual obligations. In this role, you have a unique opportunity to improve road and highway safety within your community by providing direction and leadership to our team of highly qualified auditors supporting Pennsylvania’s annual safety and emissions inspection program.

This position requires extensive communication with our clients, subcontractors, and field staff. Some minimal travel is required within Pennsylvania. The candidate will work Monday through Friday, 8-5, with flexible work options available at our Harrisburg office. We will train the correct individual in the automotive field. Essential job tasks:

Maintaining auditing staff by managing remote auditors; supplying auditors with needed equipment, supplies, and essential training; addressing auditor concerns; performing auditor reviews, auditor performance evaluations; ensuring auditor productivity

Responsible for reviewing and approving audit reports generated by our team of Quality Assurance auditors for compliance, accuracy, and client expectations

Ensures company safety and quality assurance policies by evaluating and maintaining them; by providing input on ways to enhance procedures and policies

Maintaining professionalism and efficiency; participating and ensuring a sustained staff training program

Keeps a positive attitude amongst subordinates and fellow employees; maintains good employee morale by providing feedback, encouraging and aiding in employee professional development.

Contributes to a team effort by conducting staff meetings; written agendas for auditor meetings; attending manager meetings (when required); attending and speaking at industry meetings; assisting Region Manager with regional duties as assigned

Ensures operations by assisting with investigations and audit issues; acting as liaison with stations, sub-contractors, and equipment manufacturers; performing complaint resolutions. Professionally dealing with consumer complaints against fraudulent activities or auditing staff investigations.

Provides innovative ways to reduce cost; innovative the auditing process

Assists in providing monthly reports on auditing activity, auditing staff activity and other program-required reporting

Maintains operations by performing and/or tracking inspection station suspensions, analyzer lockouts and revocations of inspection licenses; acting as an Overt Auditor or Hearings Examiner on an as needed basis; performing Q/A on station, audit, station closeout files and online auditing system

Maintains audit operations by reviewing auditor reports, checking for errors and forwarding to appropriate personnel

Maintains confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential

Assumes Region Manager role, in the event of Region Manager absence

Contributes to a team effort by accomplishing assigned ad hoc tasks, as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

4 year degree preferred or equivalent related work experience

Minimum 8+ years of related work experience with minimum 2+ years in a lead or management capacity.

Previous mechanical experience; or law enforcement; automotive and emissions inspection knowledge preferred but not necessary.

Good communication, written, people and management skills; computer skills; problem-solving ability; ability to speak and present required.

Complete knowledge and understanding of vehicle inspection regulations.

Process Overt audit reports. Clearly understand audit data and station data.

Evaluations and recommendations of audit staff, including salary adjustments, audit resource allocations, issue resolution. Identify audit equipment needs.

Salary Range:

$52,700.00 - $92,200.00
