Parsons is seeking an Airport Construction Manager with Airfield Pavement experience to support an international airport development program for IAH Airport in Houston, TX.
The Construction Manager will work on behalf of Parsons and the client with responsibilities including:
Must show demonstrated experience in airfield taxiway/runway construction, managing work in and around an active airport terminal, including maintaining operations during the course of construction so as to avoid/minimize impacts to airline operations.
Takes an active leadership role in the design and pre-construction phases, to guide the design process toward a focus on construct-ability, maintain-ability, asset life cycle, and budget constraints.
3.Takes a leadership role in all aspects of workplace Health, Safety and Security, adopting a personal, behavioural demonstration of a safe working culture.
Ap Applies a comprehensive knowledge of various disciplines to be used during construction, as well as the methods and techniques typically utilized. Must be fluent in Microsoft Office software package.
5.Must show 10 years’ experience in understanding and applying contract language, specification language, and construction plan details to ensure project quality.That experience should include understanding the contractual roles of the engineer of record, owner, contractor, quality control, safety controls, and regulatory agencies, and pro-actively coordinating the overall team to achieve a successful project completion.
6.Familiarity with industry standard processes and procedures relative to communication of issues requiring clarification, compliance reporting, contract changes, work acceptance and quality controls.
7.Directs the overall planning/scheduling of construction activities to identify critical milestones and potential disruptions to priorities.
8.Excellent people management skills and ability to converse and communicate with all levels of team participants.
9.Highly numerate and able to interpret and utilize schedule information, performance metrics and financial data.
1 Must demonstrate examples of engaging in a highly collaborative manner. Must be able to show examples of seeking to bring resolution to issues as they arise in an appropriate and timely manner.
4-year degree in Civil Engineering or a construction-related field.
15 years ofconstruction management experience with roadway related projects
Prior experience inoverseeing and managing the construction of major capital roadway improvement projects
Experience on Roadway/Highway design build project is a PLUS but not required.
