Parsons is now hiring Structural Engineers for our rapidly expanding Federal project located in Houston, TX.

We need our engineers to be versatile, enthusiastic to work in highly flexible, team-oriented environment and who have exceptional communication, analytical and management skills.

In this role:you will perform a variety of construction / engineering duties by applying basic construction / engineering techniques and analysis. You will inspect site conditions to ensure suitability for the designed permanent works. Give practical advice on constructional matters. Observe site safety procedures. You may be asked to inspect construction, including temporary, works to ensure compliance with approved methods and contract requirements. Maintain records of inspections, work executed, etc.

Responsibilities :

  • Working on construction site, assists Resident Engineer with implementing structural engineering practices and related standards.

  • Structural engineering systems subject matter expert

  • Develops and implements QA procedures to ensure quality control performed by others is properly implemented throughout the program and assigned projects.

  • Reviews standards for materials and equipment to ensure they are in accordance with the specifications and LEED sustainability plan.

  • Performs constructability, buildability, and maintainability reviews, especially as related to structural systems.

  • Reviews shop drawing and construction-phase submittals when issues arise that require specific technical assistance.

  • Reviews design drawings and specifications

  • Participates in value engineering and scope and budget reconciliation when required or requested.

  • Writes detailed reports related to structural engineering of projects and confers with project and program managers as requested.

  • Supports the needs of other discipline leads for input to their efforts.

  • Makes site trips to collect structural engineering related data and construction contractor performance.

US Citizenship is required.A National Agency Check will be required.

** NO Relocation assistance/sign-on bonus will be available for this position.

Qualifications:

  • Min 10+ years of structural engineering experience required

  • PE required

  • Experience with RISA-3D, GT STRUDL, or STAAD required

  • Track record of resolving problems adhering to the work scope, budget and schedule, and reporting the work status

  • Provides input and engineering information to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and other engineers working on the same project

  • BS in civil engineering from an accredited institution required

  • US Citizenship required
