Job Description:
Parsons is seeking to hire a Process Engineer to provide expertise for engineering projects.

We need our engineers to be versatile, enthusiastic to work in highly flexible, team oriented environment and who have exceptional communication, analytical and organizational skills. In this role: you will complete a wide variety of complex engineering assignments, apply process engineering techniques and analysis to the specific project assign. You will apply your professional engineering techniques and analyses which may involve CAE (computer aided engineering)/CAD (computer aided design) applications. Willingness to travel to supplier, client, or construction site locations is expected.
What You'll Be Doing:
Prepare project deliverables and contract documents including calculations, pipe design, and drawings for the Feasibility, Conceptual, Basic and Detailed Engineering phases
Responsible for oversight of 3rd party engineering/design teams, including design reviews, coordination, and making recommendations to owner’s engineering team
Responsible for producing deliverables that are needed to support various AACE Classification cost estimates for the CAPEX projects
Proposes and implements solutions to problems encountered with process systems
Participate in HAZOP for small to mid-size CAPEX projects
Lead and participate in IDC/IDR cross-discipline checks
Participate in discipline checks for small projects of intermediate complexity and drive overall project quality requirements
Survey existing process systems and examine field conditions as required to support the development and completion of projects.
Identify field conditions that can impact the project objectives and scope and articulate them in a clear manner to project team
Code reviews, client standards, and industry guidelines
Perform engineering calculations
Prepare contract documents (redline / produce floor plans, details, flow diagrams, and schedules)
Prepare specifications and datasheets
Construction administration duties (Answering RFIs, review of shop drawings)
Work with vendors and contractors, while interfacing with multiple departments, and working with internal customers to manage projects, policies, and procedures
Attend project meetings
May be required to provide the seal and signature of the professional engineer, as appropriate, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and ordinances
May act in an advisory capacity to senior management personnel on process engineering related matters
Completes a variety of process engineering assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes
Prepares detailed requisitions for equipment and materials
Reviews supplier drawing submittals and performs technical bid analyses
Provides technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters and lower level Process Engineers working on the same project
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering (or related field) and 8+ years of related work experience
Proficiency in utilizing CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering is required
Occasional field visits, climbing stairs and ladders, and lifting up to 25 lbs
Experience in process design for front-end (FEED), detailed design and field support of oil and chemical industries
Experience preparing complex process engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and P&ID's (Process & Instrument Design)
Proficient in the use of Aspen HYSYS and/or Aspen Plus or other process simulation software
Complete knowledge and interpretation of code compliance requirements and industry standards for the oil, gas, and chemical industries
