Sr. Safety Manager – HAS Building Official

We’re looking for special people that desire to work on development and execution teams that design and build in the world best airports! Parson’s is now hiring Sr. Safety Manager who specialize in Airport site and facility construction.

  1. Ability to create and implement HSE Programs for use on large, complex capital development programs; airport specific experience desirable.

  2. Establish benchmarks and performance standards to monitor and evaluate the HSE activities of design consultants and contractors to assure the work conforms with the contract documents and industry standards.

  3. Ability to establish and lead internal audits of program management teams to evaluate conformance with and effectiveness of established HSE processes and procedures.

  4. Ability to establish and lead external audits of design consultants and contractors to evaluate conformance with the HSE requirements of the contracts.

  5. 10-15 years combined professional experience in project management, with minimum of five (5) years’ experience in construction related HSE assurance required.

  6. Degree in HSE management or related discipline desired.

Responsibilities:

  1. Serve as the Principal Point of Contact for administration of the Health, Safety and Environmental programs associated with the IAH Terminal Redevelopment Program (ITRP).

  2. Developing and implementing health, safety and environmental (HSE) strategies and action plans that define and ensure the PMT team’s commitment to a proactive HSE culture;

  3. Auditing, analysing and reporting HSE performance and writing HSE performance/compliance reports, as the lead for HSE within the ITRP;

  4. Interacts with ITRP Program Management Team (PMT) members for appropriate coordination, communication and documentation related to quality across the full range of ITRP projects.

  5. Develops and conducts training of staff at all levels in HSE issues and responsibilities.

  6. Assesses and refines the HSE processes and procedures (as needed) to assure that they remain effective and continue to fully meet the needs of the ITRP.

  7. Ensuring compliance with HSE legislation and keeping up to date with regulations and legislation

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

4-year degree in Construction or related field (or equivalent experience) and 10-15 years of related work experience in the field of Health and Safety, including some supervisory experience.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES :

Requires extensive knowledge of Federal and state health and safety regulations and reporting procedures, as well as strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to perform in a supervisory/managerial capacity is also required.
