Parsons Corporation Advanced Project Engineer in Huntsville, Alabama

The position we need to fill this position requires someone with the unusual gift for seeing the big picture without compromising today’s needs. And while we’re all predicting trends, you are also looking at avenues to bring us there and will make that road as smooth as possible.

Parsons is seeking an Advanced Project Engineer to provide technical facilities engineering expertise to the Missile Defense Agency. Assess technical/engineering issues and ultimately evaluates and recommends technical alternatives. Support planning, design, and execution of new construction, renovation, and equipment upgrade projects. Previous facility project engineering experience, USACE experience and MDA knowledge is a prerequisite for this position. Travel 0-4 weeks per quarter.


  • Support the Government Facilities Engineering Director to plan, program, design, execute, and document Military Construction (MILCON) and sustainment, restoration, and modernization (SRM) projects.

  • The candidate must display the ability and experience to integrate and coordinate facilities engineering projects within MDA, USACE, host installations, A&E firms, and other agencies.

  • Work as part of an interdisciplinary technical team on facility projects.

  • Integrate projects scopes of work

  • Provide construction surveillance

  • Prepare project briefings in Microsoft PowerPoint and information papers in Microsoft Word

  • Review, analyze and contribute to technical reports and documentation

  • Obtain, analyze, and distribute technical and contractual information

  • Review, and integrate change proposals

  • Participate in decision-making meetings with project stakeholders and MDA Leadership

  • Must also have an excellent working knowledge of:USACE/NAVFAC/DPW construction project execution

  • Project planning and design scoping sessions/charrettes

  • Facility assessments, facility operations, master planning, and environmental issues, and related impacts

Experience / Education Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree in Engineering (Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical) and a Masters degree

  • 13+ years of relevant facilities experience

  • 5+ years of U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) experience

  • Knowledge with the Missile Defense Agency (MDA)

  • Broad general facility engineering background

  • Demonstrated project engineering experience in support of scheduling, planning, programming, design, construction, operations, environmental, and start-up aspects of facility/infrastructure related projects

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software

  • Secret clearance or the ability to obtain a clearance

Preferred/Desired Skills:

  • Professional Engineering (PE) license

  • PMP

Must be able to obtain, maintain and/or currently possess a security clearance.
