Parsons is seeking an Aerospace Threat Modeling Engineer to support our missile defense activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aerospace, physics, and/or math; experience in the MDA domain; and experience with Modeling & Simulation (M&S). Prior modeling experience on High Performance Computing (HPC) platforms is highly desired. Familiarity with Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) is a plus. Experience with one or more programming languages is also a plus. The candidate will collaborate with other subject matter experts (SMEs) to specify advanced, aerospace threats in analytical models and support integration of those threat properties and behaviors with MBSE descriptive models. Analytical tools such as TGx, STK, ModelCenter, MatLab, Simulink, AFSIM, etc., will be used.
Responsibilities will include:
Implementation of physics-based threat system characterizations (models) based on customer source material.
Design interfaces and integrate model elements and tools to operate as an integrated suite.
Assessment/quality checking the model data produced.
Document methodologies, analytical methods, and analysis results and present to customer and other stakeholders.
Participate in regular peer reviews and contribute to knowledge-sharing and learning/teaching sessions.
Liaise with other team members, SMEs, customer, and other stakeholders. Assist in the development of Executive-level briefings, papers, and other correspondence. Prepare and brief deliverables.
BS degree with typically 2+ years of related professional experience. (Masters degree in Aerospace Engineering, Physics or related STEM degree program from an accredited university in preferred)
Ability to obtain a security clearance, with current SECRET or TS preferred
Experience in aerospace missile threat modeling
Experience with missile trajectory generation tools.
Experience with aerospace vehicle signature generation is a plus.
Knowledge or experience with rocket and missile systems (especially ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, hypersonic missiles), satellite systems (SATCOM or GEOINT), space vehicle to ground control systems, space vehicle to launch vehicle systems, space vehicle to range systems.
Experience in government or industry in Systems Engineering of large, complex System-of-Systems.
Experience in implementing models on an HPC platform.
Familiarity with MBSE concepts.
Experience with MATLAB/Simulink, AFSIM, ModelCenter, one or more high level programming languages.
MDA or military experience are a plus.
