EEA Principal Cyber Security Systems Engineer

Position Overview:

Cyber Security Engineering support to MDA for planning, acquisition, and sustainment of space-enabled global communications comprised of satellites, terminals, and control stations of various acquisition categories, in different phases of their lifecycles, providing communications to aircraft, ships, mobile, and fixed sites



  • Risk Management Framework

  • Cybersecurity Assessment and Authorizations (AA)

  • Plans of Action and Milestones (POAM)

  • Enterprise Information Technology Database Repository (EIDTR) reporting

  • Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) validation and reporting

  • Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) reporting

  • Mission Information Scheduling

  • Policies and procedures

  • Security baseline tracking

  • Cybersecurity planning

  • Security vulnerability assessments

  • Engineering / contract change proposal reviews

  • System security risk analysis reporting

  • Security control implementation within Test and Evaluation Management Plan (TEMP)

  • Security architecture

Experience and Education Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree required, Master Degree (MS or MA) preferred. Degree in technical engineering or equivalent


  • 2+ years broad Cyber Security Engineering experience on Space Defense programs. 20+ years of missile defense experience required.

  • Demonstrated ability to participate in cross-functional planning, coordination, and task execution situations involving the full spectrum of system engineering and integration activities

  • Strong understanding and working experience with space launch process, activities, and execution

  • Must be eligible for a high level security clearance

  • CISSP strongly desired; Must be DoD 8750 Compliant.. i.e. certifications at the IAT Level I or higher; IAM Level I or higher; and/or IASAE Level 1 or higher

Must have active Secret with ability to maintain.
