POSITION OVERVIEW :

This position provides engineering support to the Missile Defense Agency’s (MDA) Hypersonic Defense Program. The selected candidate will be responsible for developing program plans, schedules, briefings, contracts, fiscal plans reports, acquisition strategies, and frequent external/internal requests for information.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Experience with developing consolidated funding requests, spend plans, and financial status reports.

  • Ability to prepare briefings schedules.

  • Experience generating programmatic and acquisition support documentation.

  • Ability to lead working groups internal and external to the organization and work with individuals with differing perspectives and roles and responsibilities.

  • Experience working with technical staff and project managers to gather information.

  • Ability to make programmatic recommendations to leadership.

  • Energetic, motivated, and self-starting.

  • Adaptable to changing customer mission and support needs.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop creative solutions to a variety of complex problems in an ambiguous environment.

  • Proficient in the use of MS Office applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, Outlook, and MS Project.

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Understanding of Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) operation and organization.

  • Experience responding to action items and Congressional/OSD Requests for Information (RFIs).

  • Familiarity with Integrated Master Schedules, System-level Work Breakdown Structures, System of Systems engineering management approaches.

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • 4-year degree in Engineering (or related field) and5+years of related field engineering experience. A MA or MS is desired.

  • Must hold an Active Secret Security Clearance or higher.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES :

  • Potential to perform in a lead capacity, excellent written and oral communications skills, and a familiarity of industry practices and regulations are required.

  • Must also possess a thorough knowledge of current technology and be able to select and apply appropriate engineering software for use on project.
