Job Description:
Parsons is seeking a talented Principal-Level RF Modeling and Simulation Engineer to join a diverse team supporting the Integrated Threat Analysis and Simulation Environment (ITASE) program.
ITASE provides a critical role in our nation’s defense by bringing together intelligence-backed, medium-to-high fidelity threat system models developed across the Defense Intelligence Enterprise into an integrated wargame simulation environment. Parsons has supported this program for over ten years, with an established team and excellent customer relationships. Because the need for accurate and integrated modeling, simulation and analysis continues to grow, we are expanding our team to adapt to new challenges.

In this role, you will provide subject matter expertise in RF and communications and lead a team of engineers and computer scientists developing software models of threat weapon systems that capture the capabilities and limitations of the actual systems modeled. You will work closely with Systems Engineers, Senior M&S Engineers, and the ITASE Chief Engineer to define requirements, design and develop RF system models and algorithms, identify gaps in existing RF techniques and recommend, design, and develop enhancements to advance RF and communications modeling in ITASE. You will support regular reviews with the government customer through system requirements review (SRR), proposed design review (PDR), critical design review (CDR), and regular in-process reviews (IPRs). Our team develops and integrates a variety of weapon system models, including electronic warfare systems, communication systems, radar systems, command and control systems, surface-to-air missile systems, gun-based defense systems as well as mobile ground and air platforms.
Engineering tasks may include 1) RF hardware characterization; 2) software reverse engineering of RF signal processing; 3) system-level characterization of RF systems; 4) subsystem and system-level modeling and simulation derived from all-source intelligence data; 5) integration of system models into engagement-level and mission-level systems-of-systems (SoS) simulations; 6) development and/or integration of high-fidelity propagation effects such as terrain masking, refraction, and over-the-horizon propagation; 7) automated unit, system and SoS test planning, development and execution; support of small and large-scale simulation studies, and 8) support of small and large-scale simulation studies.
Other Responsibilities include:
Defining requirements and designing solutions for modeling and simulation software.
Tracking filter design and development
Participating in technical discussions to assist in near-term and long-term planning
Developing software and automated tests using C/C++ and Python on Windows and Linux Platforms
Leading an Agile software development team
Troubleshooting and reporting software anomalies in a complex environment
Working alongside a team, including mentoring junior software developers on C++, development practices, software design.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field from an accredited institution. and 15+ years of professional experience or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field from an accredited institution. and 12+ years of professional experience
Strong C++ programming skills
RF, Communications, Radar expertise
Candidate must have good written and oral communication skills, as well as a desire to work with a highly technical team including classified customers.
Candidate must be a US Citizen and meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Top Secret / SCI Clearance
Desired:
Modeling and Simulation experience
Mentoring experience
Experience with AFSIM and/or ITASE modeling environments
Experience designing, developing, or operating code for a distributed processing environment.
Experience with working with environmental datasets such as terrain, road networks, atmospheric data, RF propagation data, etc.

Salary Range:
$92,200.00 - $161,400.00
