Job Description:

Parsons is seeking a talented RF Modeling and Simulation Engineer to join our growing Mission Solutions team!

This effort provides a critical role in our nation’s defense by bringing together intelligence-backed, medium-to-high fidelity threat system models developed across the Defense Intelligence Enterprise into an integrated wargame simulation environment. Parsons has supported this program for over ten years, with an established team and excellent customer relationships. Because the need for accurate and integrated modeling, simulation and analysis continues to grow, we are expanding our team to adapt to new challenges.

We are looking for an experienced mid-level RF engineer to expand our team supporting modeling and analysis of threat weapon systems. In this role you will analyze foreign threat RF systems, including radar, passive RF detection, electronic support, electronic attack, and tactical communications systems. You will also work alongside a team of developers to incorporate the resulting analysis into documentation and modeling and simulation. This task includes broad exposure to a variety of modern technologies and techniques in the communications, signal processing, and sensing fields. Our local team has deep experience in RF systems, intelligence threat modeling, ballistic missiles, C4 modeling and integrated systems of systems simulations, providing you with both SME support and a broad opportunity for career growth.

You will integrate into the Parsons M&S team and work closely with the appropriate Parsons Task Leads to coordinate requirements, design, and testing of solutions. You must be self-motivated, a quick study, possess good communication skills, and be willing to work as part of an integrated product team consisting of both Government and contractor personnel. In this role will become an expert in threat RF systems and their tactical role integrated with C4 systems, networks, tactics, protocols, and techniques, as well as advanced concepts in modeling and simulation of such dynamic, real-world implementations.

Ideally you will possess experience with RF weapon systems, communications systems, or passive detection systems and a strong RF and/or signal processing background.

Engineering tasks may include 1) RF hardware characterization; 2) software reverse engineering of RF signal processing; 3) system-level characterization of RF systems; 4) subsystem and system-level modeling and simulation derived from all-source intelligence data; 5) integration of system models into engagement-level and mission-level systems-of-systems (SoS) simulations; 6) development and/or integration of high-fidelity propagation effects such as terrain masking, refraction, and over-the-horizon propagation; 7) automated unit, system and SoS test planning, development and execution; support of small and large-scale simulation studies, and 8) support of small and large-scale simulation studies.

What Else You'll Be Doing :

  • Defining requirements and designing solutions for modeling and simulation software.

  • Developing software and automated tests using C/C++ and Python on Windows and Linux Platforms

  • Working as part of an Agile software development team

  • Troubleshooting and reporting software anomalies in a complex environment

  • Managing code quality through version control, code review, automated software builds, automated unit testing.

What Required Skills You'll Bring :

  • Active SECRET clearance required to start. You must be a US Citizen and be willing/able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET/SCI Security Clearance with counterintelligence polygraph.

  • 1) Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field from an accredited institution with 3+ years of professional experience OR 2) Master's Degree Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field from an accredited institution and 1+ year of professional experience OR 3) Ph.D. in Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field with 0 years of experience.

  • Signal processing and/or RF, Communications, Radar expertise

  • Programming experience (C++ preferred)

What Desired Skills You'll Bring :

  • Experience with threat system model modeling in TMAP, ODESSA, ESAMS, AFSIM or ITASE.

  • Software development in a DevOps or DevSecOps environment

  • Experience working with an AGILE software development team

  • Good written and oral communication skills, as well as a desire to work with a highly technical team including classified customers.

  • Experience with working with environmental datasets and RF propagation through the environment

  • Experience with Gitlab or Jenkins

  • Experience working with environmental datasets such as terrain, road networks, atmospheric data, RF propagation data, etc

Salary Range:

$92,200.00 - $161,400.00
