Job Description:

Ready for a challenge that will keep you on the cutting edge? Parsons is seeking a talented Senior-Level Modeling and Simulation Engineer to join a diverse team supporting the Integrated Threat Analysis and Simulation Environment (ITASE) program.

Parsons has supported this program for ten years, with an established team and customer relationships. Because the need for accurate and integrated modeling, simulation and analysis continues to grow we are expanding our team to adapt to new challenges.

This developer will lead a team developing software models of threat weapon systems which capture the capabilities and limitations of the actual systems modeled. The developer will represent the team through the entire development process, including requirements definition, design, development, integration into ITASE, testing, verification, and validation. Throughout the process the developer will prepare and support regular reviews with the government customer through system requirements review (SRR), PRD, CDR, and regular in-process reviews (IPRs). Our team develops and integrates a variety of weapon system models, including electronic warfare systems, communication systems, radar systems, command and control systems, surface to air missile systems, gun-based defense systems as well as mobile ground and air platforms. The developer must be willing learn new systems as well as work with SMEs to gather critical information for the design of threat models.

What Else You'll Be Doing :

  • Defining requirements and designing solutions for modeling and simulation software.

  • Participating in technical discussions to assist in near-term and long-term planning

  • Developing software and automated tests using C/C++ and Python on Windows and Linux Platforms

  • Leading an Agile software development team

  • Troubleshooting and reporting software anomalies in a complex environment

  • Working alongside a team, including mentoring junior software developers on C++, development practices, software design.

  • Managing code quality through version control, code review, automated software builds, automated unit testing.

What Required Skills You'll Bring :

  • SECRET clearance required to start. Candidate must be a US Citizen and meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Top Secret / SCI Clearance with counterintelligence polygraph.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field from an accredited institution. and 12+ years of professional experience OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field from an accredited institution. and 10+ years of professional experience OR Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 8+ years of professional experience

  • Strong C++ programming skills

  • Experience developing products with regular release cycles

  • Candidate must have good written and oral communication skills, as well as a desire to work with a highly technical team including classified customers.

  • Experience developing and supporting software for Windows

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Software development in a DevOps or DevSecOps environment

  • Linux Software Development

  • Experience working with an AGILE software development team

  • Mentoring experience

  • Experience with AFSIM and/or ITASE modeling environments

  • Experience designing, developing, or operating code for a distributed processing environment.

  • Experience with working with environmental datasets such as terrain, road networks, atmospheric data, RF propagation data, etc.

  • Experience with Gitlab or Jenkins

Salary Range:

$100,400.00 - $175,700.00
