SOFTWARE SYSTEMS ANALYST
Parsons is seeking a Software Analyst or Engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) Program. The candidate must be knowledgeable of DoD software applications, the software verification/validation process, and have some knowledge/experience with software quality and/or safety. The ideal candidate will have 6-12 years of experience working with military weapon systems, weapon system software and/or weapon system software quality assurance.
Must be well organized and able to perform duties with minimal oversight.
Must be functionally proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
Must be able to travel (25% max).
Strong oral and written communications skills.
Be able to organize/lead teams comprised of different skill sets and background in theaccomplishment of team goals. For example: Integrated Product Teams (IPT), TechnicalInterchange Meetings (TIM), or other various assessment teams.
Should have some experience working with uniformed military personnel (Soldiers, Sailors,Airmen, Marines), and government civilians.
Help lead a team through and assessment/analysis of software performance compliance with industry standards and adequacy for intended purpose. Will include both qualitative and quantitative analyses.
Analyzing deliverables for adequacy and to find inconsistencies, both internally and externally with policy, guidance, and other constraints.
Makes recommendations for software improvement and/or solutions to identified shortcomings.
Review and analyze new and updated software builds, ensuring requirements are appropriately verified and validated and software quality, safety, and maintainability are effectively addressed.
Conduct research and prepare short studies identifying potential impacts of proposed software changes, proposed fixes and or implementations. (support software materiel release considerations)
Prior military or defense related safety experience
Strong communication (oral and written) skills
5+ years of experience, working in the software development and evaluation field
Experienced in working in a high intensity environment with minimal supervision
Bachelor’s Degree (Software applications, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or have comparable work experience)
Prior military experience as an officer or mid-level NCO (E-5) or higher.
Experience with software development, testing, and implementation.
Software safety and/or quality experience.
Familiarity with software safety analysis techniques such as a Functional Hazard Assessments (FHA) is highly desired.
