Position Overview:

The Systems Engineer/Analyst in this position will support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Interfaces Division (GME-I) in Huntsville, Al. The systems engineer/analyst will directly support GME-I, working as part of an integration team, providing support directly related to interface design/documentation. The systems engineer/analyst will provide support and coordination of Prime Contractor/Government activities required to develop and deliver a desired capability in accordance with the standard Systems Engineering Lifecycle of a program. This position requires outstanding written and verbal skills as well as MS office skills

Responsibilities:

  • Develop GMD Element and component interface requirements, maintain requirements traces to the BMDS System Specification and to Component/Product and lower level contractor specifications;

  • Develop and document requirements allocation across the GM Program;

  • Develop and deliver GM internal and external Interface specification updates and traces;

  • Perform GM Element-level requirements and verification requirements generation, tracking and documentation.

  • Support development, maintenance, and control of internal and external interfaces.

  • Develop interface design documentation to include Interface Design Descriptions detailing agreement between interfacing entities

  • Review and evaluate ICDs, to include Interface Control Specifications (ICSs) and Interface Design Documents (IDDs), for both vertical and horizontal interfaces.

  • Coordinate with interface teams and participate in interface reviews and working groups, as well as Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs).

  • Apply critical thinking analytical/engineering skills and problem-solving methodology to assigned tasks, to identify the problem, determine courses of action, develop paths ahead for task completion, and formulate recommendations to the Customer, status, and follow-up on task completion

  • Support the Government Interface Team by representing the interests of the Customer in working group forums, TIMs, and any other forums required by the customer

  • Prepare briefings, reports, and meeting summaries, including recommendations for corrective actions.

Ability to work in a team environment to accomplish tasks. Exceptional written and verbal skills required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 7+ years of experience with GMD or MDA Interface programs from a Prime development level or service support level effort

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver products on schedule

  • Experience with Missile Defense Agency, preferred GMD experience / MDA Interface requirements experience

  • RADAR systems experience preferred

  • Experience utilizing requirements management system tools such as DOORS preferred

  • Capability to develop and present program briefings to senior management-level personnel

  • BA/BS degree, Engineering or related technical degree

Candidate must have a Secret Clearance, prefer TS
