Parsons is looking to hire a Transportation Engineering Manager for our great roadway group in Indianapolis. This position is an addition to staff due to the work in-house, strong backlog and new pursuits in the state of Indiana. Our new Engineering Manager will lead a team of professionals working on our expanding portfolio of projects. Parsons’ roadway staff is well versed in both traditional and design/build projects and is executing key projects across the state of Indiana and surrounding region. The best candidate for this role will have 15+ years of experience and need a strong roadway and civil engineering technical background. We need our Engineering Managers to be versatile as well as have exceptional communication, analytical and management skills. In this role you will serve as a technical lead for complex projects and manage the engineering and technical aspects of project development. This role may also serve as a Project Manager on strategic pursuits and projects. You will assist in the recruiting and evaluating prospective employees as well as mentoring staff.

This position is based in our Indianapolis office.


The successful candidate will review and approve staffing budgets, estimates and staffing assignment schedules on each project, coordinate all discipline staffing requirements, and monitor the quality of the work and progress against production requirements. Supports pursuits and business development efforts as required, serving as technical consultant. Oversee design, calculations, cost estimates, technical provisions, and plan production for projects of all sizes. You will be involved in recruiting, interviewing, and evaluating prospective employees and work with other Managers to resolve any existing or forecasted staffing issues, and actively participate in delivering a quality product to our clients.

  • 15+ years of related engineering design management experience with roadway projects

  • Able to get State of Indiana PE is required.

  • Experience on INDOT projects required.

  • Experience managing an engineering team of 10 or more employees.

  • 4-year degree in Civil Engineering or related technical/business field
