Parsons Corporation Occupational Health and Safety Specialist in Jazan, Saudi Arabia

Principal Objective:

The Occupational Health & Safety Specialist will be responsible for the coordination and supervision of the Royal Commission occupational health & safety programs required to ensure conformance with the RC occupational health and safety policies and compliance with applicable KSA health and safety laws and regulation.The Occupational Health and Safety Specialist reports to the Health & Safety Department Manager and Section Manager and administratively receive direction related to his job from the Director of Industrial Safety & Security Department at JCPDI. Interfaces with other JCPDI Departments Directors, Section Managers, Contractors, Consultants and Venders in responsibilities relating to Royal Commission occupational health and safety programs.

Major Activities Performed:

  • Overall supervision of programs and activities required under the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

  • Oversight for the facility-wide Housekeeping Program

  • Medical monitoring program as it applies to OSHA's Lead Standard

  • Auditing of facility programs to ensure compliance with the applicable regulations

  • Supervision of facility inspection, maintenance of the required records and timely submittal of required reports to regulatory agencies

  • Coordination with the Royal Commission Environmental Department on safety programs, activities and responses to the regulatory agencies

  • Training and oversight of facility personnel performing environmental, health and safety duties

  • Documents violations through notes, sketches, photos and videotapes

  • Coordinates/communicates with Facility Managers, Contractors and Stakeholders to rectify/resolve health & safety issues

  • Provides occupational health and safety trainings to other Royal Commission Engineers and Inspectors

  • Maintains OSHA 300 log

  • Drives safety measurement and improvement on JCPDI Royal Commission projects

  • Comply with the current Royal Commission JCPDI quality systems requirements

  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the H&S Manager and EHS leadership

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Safety, or related field with 7 to 10 years of directly related experience in health and safety field.

  • Experience in safety management system international standards.

  • Experience in Root Couse Analysis related to incident investigations.

  • Well-developed English written and oral communication skill and excellent comments on English Language.

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret international and local regulations and technical procedures.

  • Ability to work independently and effectively with other departments as good team player in the development of safety programs

  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience required.

  • Knowledge of computers and basic software applications: MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) and good proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
