Parsons Corporation Lead Engineer - Cost Control in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Engineer – Cost Control to join our team and support our client on a high-profile project. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing cost-related aspects of the project, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints while maintaining quality and schedule requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive cost control strategies to manage project budgets effectively.

  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to establish accurate cost estimates and forecasts.

  • Monitor project expenditures and analyze variances against budgeted costs on a regular basis.

  • Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and provide recommendations to optimize project performance.

  • Review change orders, contract modifications, and scope adjustments to assess their impact on project costs.

  • Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and financial summaries to communicate cost performance to stakeholders.

  • Conduct risk assessments and mitigation strategies to address potential cost overruns or delays.

  • Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure competitive pricing and cost-effective purchasing practices.

  • Utilize cost control software and tools to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.

  • Mentor and train junior cost control staff to develop their skills and capabilities in cost management.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or related field.

  • Proven experience (minimum 18 years) in cost control or project controls within the construction industry and a minimum 5yrs+ experience in GCC (KSA experience ideally).

  • Proficiency in cost control software and tools such as Primavera, CostOS, or equivalent.

  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and identify trends.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software applications.

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with a track record of driving results and meeting project objectives.

  • Professional certifications such as Certified Cost Professional (CCP) or Project Management Professional (PMP) are a plus.
