Parsons Corporation Lead Procurement Engineer (Material Management) in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

Job Description:

Parsons is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Engineer -Materials Management (Procurement) to join our team for an exciting large-Scale infrastructure project. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in engineering, construction management, and quality control, with a proven track record of success in large-scale construction projects. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead a team to deliver results on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive procurement plans and strategies to support construction project timelines and objectives.

  • Manage the procurement of materials, equipment, and services, including research, sourcing, negotiation, and contract administration.

  • Collaborate with contractor/s, project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements, identify procurement needs, and develop procurement solutions.

  • Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure reliable and cost-effective procurement.

  • Analyze market trends, pricing, and availability of construction materials and equipment, and make informed procurement decisions.

  • Oversee the logistics of material transportation, storage, and delivery to construction sites, ensuring on-time and damage-free arrivals.

  • Identify and mitigate procurement-related risks, such as supply chain disruptions, material shortages, and cost overruns.

  • Develop and optimize procurement policies, procedures, and performance metrics to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

  • Leverage technology, data analytics, and automation to streamline procurement processes and improve decision-making.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate procurement activities with project planning, construction schedules, and quality control.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.

  • Minimum of 18 years of experience in Construction and Materials Management.

  • Strong understanding of construction materials, procurement methods, and logistics operations.

  • Proven experience in materials management, quality assurance, and construction inspection on large-scale projects, preferably in the sports and entertainment industry.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
