Job Description:

We are hiring an experienced Manufacturing Design Engineer to support innovative improvements for a major employer in the Food and Beverage manufacturing industry in Andersen Indiana. If you have a passion for excellence in manufacturing and have a high-tech mindset in your designs, we want to talk with you! In this role you will lead the design, and execution of innovative manufacturing equipment that will include packaging, material handling equipment, robotic equipment and other similar equipment used in manufacturing. You will be key to identify the best technology platform for equipment and own the design, operational standards and best practices! We expect you to help drive innovation by supporting new product launches using your advanced design and manufacturing skills!

Responsibilities:

Design, build, improve, and innovate manufacturing, packaging, and material handling infrastructure throughout our clients' supply-chain networks.

Oversee the design, and implement small to medium scope integrated automation projects with system elements such as high-speed sortation, multiple conveyors, package lines, and/or robotic work cells .

Provide oversite to vendors and solve issues with materials through for the client. Evaluate issues and propose actionable resolutions to design problems.

Identify and communicate needs for design improvements.

Monitor and enforce project schedules and quality with vendors or subcontractors.

Guide and coordinate design and execution efforts between internal teams and outside vendors including equipment specifications, material flow, process design, and site layout.

Direct system commissioning and predefined testing activities, including administering the plan, interpreting statuses, and reporting results.

Coordinate with local client site management to ensure proper operator training, procedural compliance, maintenance and safety practices are followed for new and existing equipment.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a technical or construction related field (or equivalent experience) with 8+ years of experience in the field.

Direct experience with material handling systems, packaging, ASRS, conveyors, and process improvement.

Excellent written and oral communications skills

Familiarity of industry practices and regulations are required
