Job Description:

We are currently recruiting for a Principal Supervising Engineer Architect/Landscape TSS who will responsible for providing architectural and landscape activities to TSS Unit on our project in Jazan.

You will provide professional Architectural and landscape support to the program projects with an emphasis on promoting and maintaining the technical adequacy, uniformity, and quality of the project designs in conformance with approved standards and codes. Member of the Technical Support Section of the Engineering Department providing support to all JCPDI projects. Reports professionally to the TSS Supervisor and RC Section Manager. Provides effective leadership and technical assistance in a specialized area to subordinates or peers. Interfaces with other engineering disciplines, project staff, other RC/MSC departments, NE representatives, and construction contractor representatives.

  • Perform Architectural and landscape work to meet the overall city development program requirements and standards.

  • Review NE contractor design drawings, specifications, and calculation submittals ; and, coordinate the same with the work of other disciplines.

  • Coordinate Architectural/Engineering activities with those of other disciplines and project management team within the Engineering Department ; and, also Royal Commission Departments as and where necessary.

  • Provide technical advice to other sections within the MSC and the Royal Commission as a whole.

  • Prepare proposals for design work including sketches and costs estimates for labor, equipment , and materials.

  • Process submittals/substitution requests during construction and address RFl's.

  • Prepare technical specifications, conceptual schemas and scope of work descriptions.

  • Prepare Request for Proposal (RFP) documents with design concepts.

  • Provide technical assistance during pre-bid conferences, proposal evaluations, and post-award or other contract conferences and value engineering.

  • Review vendor and shop drawings, and construction materials.

  • Perform field inspections and provide professional field support and construction troubleshooting as necessary during construction phases.

  • Perform forensic support work and offer cost effective optimal remedial solutions.

  • Assist in setting out Quality Control (QC) terms related to Architectural construction materials and their correct usage.

  • Prepare interface layouts and provide solutions for conflicts.

  • Prepare quality and presentation conscious technical correspondence, reports, and studies.

  • A Degree in Architecture (B. Arch) or related field from a recognized University with a minimum of 15 yea rs of professional experience in the architect and landscape field .

  • A minimum of 8 years experience as a discipline team lead or supervisor .

  • Previous experience of working in the Middle East and knowledge of the Saudi Building Code (SBC) will be considered an advantage.

  • Registration in Country of Origin in an Architectural or Engineering Professional Association equivalent to US PE or UK Chartered Architect status is essential.

  • LEED certification will be considered an advantage.

  • The ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English is essential.

  • Specific technical qualifications for the requisitioned position are identified below: o In-depth working knowledge of US Architectural and Building Codes.

  • Considerable knowledge of the practices and principles of design.

  • Extensive experience with building use classifications and analysis for fire safety.

  • Must have sound overall experience in problem solving based on field engineering and construction troubleshooting.

  • Strong/working experience of AutoCAD. Working knowledge of 3D modeling software is a plus

  • Extensive experience with building technology and materials with painting systems and other coating systems for Outdoor structures of wood, metal and concrete.

  • Extensive experience with indoor finishes and materials for commercial and public buildings.

  • Knowledge of computers and basic software applications: MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Working experience of managing a design team working with AutoCAD Revit and knowledge of working in a BIM Environment (strong BIM Experience would be an advantage).
