Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team! The Senior Electrical Engineer is a Member of the Engineering department Provides technical input to proposals and studies in a specialized area. Provides technical input to proposals and studies in a specialized area and serve on committees or panels for technical planning. .
What You'll Be Doing:
Perform Electrical Engineering work to meet the Royal Commissions requirements and standards.
Review A/E contractor design drawings, specifications, and calculation submittals; and, coordinate the same with the work of other disciplines.
Coordinate Engineering activities with those of other disciplines for the Private Investors for Industrial & Commercial projects and other Royal Commission Departments as and where necessary.
Provide technical advice to other sections within the Royal Commission.
Prepares proposals for design work including sketches and cost estimates for labor, equipment, and materials.
Process submittals/substitution requests during construction and address RFI's.
Prepare technical specifications, conceptual schemes and scope of work descriptions.
Prepare Request for Proposal (RFP) documents with design concepts.
Review vendor and shop drawings, and construction materials.
Perform field inspections and provide professional field support and construction troubleshooting as necessary during construction phases.
Perform forensic support work and offer cost effective optimal remedial solutions.
Updates RC Guide Specifications, Standard Drawings, Design Checklists and Design Guidelines as required.
Coordinates with the power utility company, Marafiq.
Prepare quality and presentation conscious technical correspondence, reports, and studies.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
A Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university with a minimum of 10 years of professional experience.
Previous experience of working in the Middle East and knowledge of Saudi electrical regulations will be considered an advantage.
The ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English is essential.
Must have sound overall experience in designing systems for commercial, institutional, and industrial facilities. Must be capable to check designs done by A/Es for medium voltage (13.8kV) and low voltage power, indoor lighting, outdoor and road lighting, grounding, communication, and fire alarm systems.
Perform engineering analysis of design package submitted by A/Es, including Calculations, power system studies, Drawings, MTO, Vendor Material Specifications, and other deliverables like Construction/Shop drawings.
Capable of making load estimates and calculations for demand load, cable, breaker sizing and illumination level.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
Used software to perform power system studies on low voltage and medium voltage systems.
Underground and exposed conduit and cable tray run.
Fire protection and communication systems single line diagrams and physical layout of equipment and devices.
Medium voltage (13.8kV) power distribution single line diagram and equipment layout of major equipment.
Medium voltage power distribution layout with cables in duct banks and direct buried and corresponding ampacity calculations.
Capable of Inter-Organizational Coordination group develop Master plans for MV distribution networks, as input to New Urbanization development projects undertaken by Municipal and City development.
Must be knowledgeable with the NFPA, National Electrical Code, IEEE, ANSI and IEC Standards.
Through working knowledge of Building Service Systems such as LV Distribution, Lighting, Power, FPA Alarms, Communication, Building Management systems etc.
Experience of working with AutoCAD Revit. At a minimum, good working knowledge of working in a BIM Environment (strong BIM Experience would be an advantage).
