Parsons is now hiring a Project Manager with a desire to work on creating innovative, practical solutions while acting as a client representative. In this role you will: manage all engineering and construction activities for small to medium sized aviation projects, or a subtask of a larger project, in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requirements. This includes directing and coordinating subcontractor activities in accordance with project/client procedures, scope of work, and contract specifications. Serves as the primary point of contact with the client for all engineering and construction activities related to assigned projects. Periodic travel to the job sites and to client offices is expected. Create Work Release Plans/Project Management Plans in response to client requests for technical support.
Establish the best technical solution and approach for delivering project results to the customer.
Establish project schedule and budget, and monitors progress in meeting schedule and budget requirements.
Develops project documents, processes, and procedures required to support quality control and final project deliverables.
Determines number of hours required for successful completion of project tasks.
Anticipates project staffing needs and coordinates with regional program management to make staffing assignments in accordance with schedule and technical project requirements.
Provides technical supervision to assigned engineering staff to deliver project designs on time and within established budget.
Leads engineering design review meetings with the client.
Establishes objectives and conducts performance appraisals for project staff as assigned by the Regional Program Manager.
Works in conjunction with procurement/subcontract administration staff to manage purchasing and subcontracting efforts.
Establishes a project risk management plan and ensures that it is communicated to all employees and subcontractors for each job site.
Works with field staff to actively promote and support safety policies and monitor the job site for good safety practices.
Provides construction management support for assigned projects. Facilitates the review of submittals, RFIs, and project schedules.
Chairs status meetings with customers; prepares and submits summary of project progress and pending issues.
Submits monthly reports to client, and responds to client issues and expectations.
Assists procurement/subcontracts administration in pricing and negotiating changes to the scope of work with the client and subcontractors.
Reviews bid documents and assists with bidder solicitation activities.
Documents and executes changes in scope of project.
Anticipates problems and works with client, architects/engineers, subcontractors, and Regional Program Manager to identify and implement corrective actions.
Keeps client and Regional Program Manager informed of the day to day activities of the project.
Ensures assigned field staff are maintaining accurate documentation of job progress through daily logs and other reports.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Ensures all project deliverables are provided to the client.
Bachelor's degree in an engineering, technical, or construction related field (or equivalent experience)
10+ years related work experience is required
3 years in a leadership role at a field site
Enrollment in PM certification program is preferred, but not required.
Proven ability to perform in a lead capacity
Excellent written and oral communications skills
Familiarity of industry practices and regulations are required
Must be able to meet customer security requirements. A background check by Federal Authorities will be performed.
