Job Description:

Ready to take your engineering and leadership experience to the next level to work on complex problems that will have a huge impact on the local community? Parsons is now hiring an Engineering Manager who can lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers and designers working on our expanding portfolio of Army Ammunition Plant projects in Eastern Tennessee and Western Virginia.

Parsons’ extensive experience in this field, combined with your management and technical guidance, will propel your career forward with opportunity for advancement with top performance. We need our Engineering Managers to be versatile as well as have exceptional communication, analytical and management skills. In this role you provide management and direction for all engineering disciplines support a large project or several smaller projects. You will offer personnel development, conduct performance evaluations, counsel employees, takes corrective actions (as required), and modify staffing levels as needed. One of your roles will include ensuring that all staff members adhere to company policies and procedures and receive orientations on project specific requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct subordinate staff of discipline engineering leads to execute design projects from conceptual designs to final issued-for-construction designs.

  • Develop the scope of engineering work, schedules, and budgets for large projects, and monitor progress to meet schedule and budget requirements. Identify and document changes in scope; and assess cost and schedule impact of those changes.

  • Direct subordinate staff of discipline engineering leads to develop procurement documents for good and services, and perform technical evaluation of supplier/vendor documents.

  • Instruct subordinate staff in procedural and contractual requirements.

  • Review work produced by engineering disciplines to ensure procedures are followed, contract requirements are met, and that quality is acceptable.

  • Monitor productivity and technical proficiency of assigned technical personnel and make reassignments as project needs arise. Conduct periodic performance evaluations with subordinate staff.

  • Assist the Project or Proposal Manager in planning, directing, supervising, and controlling the execution of required technical, fiscal, and administrative functions. Participate in determining the technical skills and staff hours required for successful completion of the project.

  • Ensure client criteria and scope are met by all engineering disciplines. Expedite distribution of action items following discussions/meetings with the client and Project Manager.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or related field)

20+ years of related work experience, including supervisory/managerial experience

Professional Engineer registration required

Proven ability to perform in a supervisory/managerial capacity

Excellent written and oral communications skills

Thorough knowledge of federal government contracting and US Army practices and regulations is required

Must also possess a thorough knowledge of current technology and the capabilities and efficiencies of specific engineering software for use in completing engineering assignments

Salary Range:

$121,900.00 - $219,400.00
