Job Description:

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Under general supervision, performs a variety of general EMI and EMC related environmental sampling and analytical tasks by applying standard scientific and/or engineering techniques. The EMC Engineer at this level applies experience and increasing proficiency in the use of technical theories, practices, and company policies. Some assignments involve application of computer software. Willingness to travel and/or relocate to field sites is expected.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs a variety of field and office tasks requiring the application of specific EMC/EMI standard scientific principles and fundamental theories.

  • May lead field teams by planning, organizing, and directing the work in the field under the supervision of the Project Manager.

  • Provides technical guidance to lower-level Engineers and Technicians.

  • Write EMC and EMI analysis and measurement technical procedures and reports.

  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

  • Working knowledge of software packages and special tools typically associated with the EMC/EMI analysis and measurement is required.

  • A familiarity with North American and International EMC/EMI related code and standards, such as IEC and IEEE, and electromagnetic effect environmental rules, and regulations is required.

Education and Typical Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or an equivalent technical/scientific discipline degree related to area of specialty and

  • Advanced degree may be preferred at this level

  • 8+ years of related professional experience
