POSITION OVERVIEW :

Construction Manager for construction of a new 26,000 ft2 data centers. serve as Owner's Representative to Federal customer. Perform daily reporting, quality assurance and oversight for all Contractor's work associated with construction of a new Data Centers.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Perform a variety of construction engineering tasks to complete the construction of a new Data Centers within an existing building space in Lakewood, CO.

  • Monitor schedules for all construction activities with focus upon milestones, phasing/sequencing, submittals, lead time of critical equipment, major tests, and any coordination with Commissioning activities.

  • Maintain all project records using applicable GSA forms, electronic tools, and standard procedures.

  • During all construction stages, record, document, and submit all incoming and outgoing communications. Maintain and submit a detailed diary and running log of all events involving project activities and progress records, including all daily activities and events.

  • Manage and process technical and administrative submittals and RFIs.

  • Track and maintain an on-going list of observed defects and omissions in the work.

  • Assist in researching and managing potential claims and disputes.

  • Review and evaluate value engineering construction proposals and shared savings and provide recommendations.

  • Review and verify copies of the construction progress reports and payment requests.

  • Maintain site records on Construction Contractor’s compliance with labor standards.

  • Inspect construction Contractor’s work for progress, quality, and conformance with contract documents and applicable local standards.

  • Assist the Government through development of change order documents and cost estimates as required.

  • Coordinate special inspections with the Contractor(s) and 3rd Party Inspector(s) as required.

  • Maintain a current marked-up set of construction documents indicating all approved modifications and deviations from original construction documents at the project site.

  • Perform turnover, preparation for occupancy, and closeout tasks.

  • Promptly notify the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) of any problems or issues observed.

  • Candidate must embrace zero incident philosophy, track safety metrics, and embrace philosophy of continuous quality improvement and sustainability

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

4-year degree in construction-related field (or equivalent construction-related work experience), as well as 8 or more years of experience in field construction is required. Experience in the construction of large civil/structural and/or industrial projects at domestic and/or foreign locations is preferred.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES :

Requires a comprehensive knowledge of construction-related processes, as well as a familiarity with industry practices. Proven leadership capability is required.
