Job Description:

We are looking for a senior professional with strong project management skills to add to our Mobility Solutions team at our London office. Our team is focused on helping our provincial and municipal clients expand and improve their transportation systems through innovative solutions to their tough planning and design challenges.

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the development and execution of master planning, multimodal transportation planning, and environmental assessment projects for provincial and municipal clients in Southern Ontario. In addition, we are in the process of developing a strong market presence in Road Safety Engineering and we are actively adding key resources to our team, including a lead road safety auditor. In these roles you will be responsible for leading highly dynamic, multi-disciplinary project teams and coordinating with other technical disciplines across the organization. In this role, you will also have an opportunity to provide support to other Parsons offices throughout North America as a road safety auditor.


  • Preparing project management plans and leading the execution of projects, incl. day-to-day management of work scope / schedule / budget for assigned projects, monitoring progress to meet schedule and budget requirements, and identifying and documenting scope changes

  • Supervising and providing oversight review of the work undertaken by other professional / technical staff, making staffing assignments and reassignments as project needs arise, and monitoring productivity and technical proficiency of assigned personnel

  • Providing technical leadership and overseeing the production of project deliverables, and leading the preparation of technical reports and delivering relevant presentations to clients and project stakeholders

  • Promoting technical excellence and quality assurance of project tasks and deliverables, and ensuring that proper checking is performed in accordance with discipline quality control procedures

  • Undertaking proposal preparation / coordination / management, incl. developing project methodology, work programs, schedules, and budgets;

  • Assisting with overall business development, as well as mentoring / developing / training junior staff

  • Attendance at conferences/paper presentations (Canadian Association of Road Safety Professionals and/or Transportation Association of Conference)

  • Maintaining affiliation with professional societies to keep abreast of current developments and technologies in the industry


  • University degree in Planning or Transportation Planning/Engineering or in other professional discipline pertinent to the job function combined with relevant project management experience. A relevant post graduate degree is highly desirable.

  • Minimum of 12 years of multimodal transportation planning experience (including master plans and environmental assessments) with at least 3-5 years of successful project management experience

  • Experience with transportation planning, modelling and data practices in the Toronto Region and a good understanding of transportation issues and stakeholders

  • Intimate knowledge of safety engineering practices and in particular familiarity with TAC Road Safety Audit Guidelines and the TAC In-Service Road Safety Review process.

  • Knowledge of the Planning Act, Municipal Class Environmental Assessment Process, Provincial policies, legislation and regulations related to transportation / land use planning, and evolving industry trends is highly desirable

  • Registration with Professional Engineers of Ontario, Canadian Institute of Planners or other relevant professional licensing organizations is desired but not a requirement.
