We are seeking a world class Sr. Technical Consultant with a diverse background in the Emerging Contaminants market with emphasis on per and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), and an eye toward new emerging contaminants, who can both identify and execute remediation programs to address potential remediation opportunities for our customers. In this role, you will lead a team to develop innovative strategies and technologies to address the complex remediation challenges for our customer. You will provide PFAS guidance for our technical teams, and strategic direction for the pursuit of new client opportunities to our BD and leadership teams. You are the right one for us, if you have expertise in PFAS, are a strategic thinker and have success working with clients, government regulators and enjoy working in a matrixed, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities will include:
Providing the development of and technical direction for our team, on the many issues with PFAS and their impact on the environment, as well as sampling and analytical challenges and options for remediation.
Market and promote Parsons’ world class environmental/Industrial expertise in remediation and develop/ build on key client and industry relationships to further our movement into PFAS investigation and remediation technologies.
Identify and work with clients directly in discussions about the technical and regulatory challenges faced with PFAS investigations and promote Parsons’ expertise and abilities to address these challenges.
Direct ongoing and future research and development activities related to the treatability and remediation of emerging contaminants.
Develop solutions to handle the analysis, and clean-up of these substances in the field.
Provide direct input into project scope, and remediation techniques, as well as proposal input.
This position can be in a remote location or in one of our major offices in NJ, PA, NY, CT, DE, MI, OH, TX, CA or MD with expected (planned) travel to client site locations around the country.
4-year degree (minimum) or MS in Chemical/Environmental Engineering, Hydrogeology or related discipline.
15 + years of related environmental engineering work experience focusing on remediation
Expertise with PFAS, including the following: history and sources of PFAS; regulatory status and future implications; the unique chemistry of PFAS, including precursors; exposure, health effects, and toxicity; sampling and analytical challenges and options; fate and transport; remediation challenges; legal liabilities; data evaluation; and forensics.
Technical leadership experience that includes technological problem-solving techniques as well as the organizational, and strategic planning ability to manage teams for complex remediation projects.
Professional Engineer (PE or PG) license is preferred.
Thorough understanding of environmental rules and regulations, involving PFAS
Demonstrate success in working in a team environment, being an excellent team player as well as a leader.
Experience in Strategic planning, and Business development activities (support) for the Emerging Contaminants market
Willingness to train and develop junior employees is expected.
This position pays a minimum annual salary of $121,900.00 and a maximum annual salary of $219,400.00.
