POSITION OVERVIEW :
Provide Owner’s Agent construction management/engineering support for some of the most complex and first-of-a kinddesign and construction projects located at Los Alamos, NM for the Department of Energy (DOE). As the on-siteowner’s agent Parsons’ team at Los Alamos, you will assist DOE management as a trusted advisor in planning andmonitoring design and construction work. Willingness to relocate to Los Alamos, NM is expected.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES :
Plans, organizes, and ensures adequate staffing, execution, and monitoring of all field engineering activities and related support operations is being provided by the DOE’s design and/or construction contractors.
Provide guidance to DOE regarding scope of work, schedules, procedures, field construction problems, and othertechnical information. Assist DO in budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule.
Monitor and advise construction engineering quality control in the field.
Collaborate with DOE and its contractors to eliminate any hazards associated with the work that may adversely affect the environment or the safety or health of employees.
Establish and maintains a close working relationship with project design engineering, client representatives, andcontractors.
Monitor and advise adequacy of project control documentation, design drawings and specifications, back-chargedocuments, change orders, etc.
Monitor contractor performance pertaining to schedule and conformance to plans and specifications.
Advise DOE regarding long-range planning, scheduling, budgeting, work priorities, and personnel. Provide advice on field engineering procedures, construction methods, and financial matters to management.
Frequently interfaces with upper-level management and client personnel.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Hiring Manager Additional Details
Experience in design of commercial or DOE nuclear facilities preferred
Capable of obtaining a Department of Energy “L" or "Q” Clearance
The position requires US citizenship
4-year degree in engineering or construction-related field, or equivalent construction-related work experience, as well as 12 to 15 years of experience in field construction is required. Experience in the construction of large civil/structural and/or industrial projects at domestic and/or foreign locations is preferred, including some supervisory experience.
Requires a comprehensive knowledge of engineering and construction-related processes, as well as industry practices. Also requires excellent written and oral communication skills, a familiarity with CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering and construction, and the proven ability for performing in a supervisory capacity on a project.
