Parsons is hiring for a Performance Test Engineer to support our Smart Vehicle Solutions team in Markham Ontario Canada.

Reporting to the QA Manager, the Performance Test Engineer is primarily responsible for ensuring the quality of deliverables throughout the agile development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • The Performance Test Engineer will focus on reviewing the functional and design specifications to ensure full understanding of acceptance criteria

  • Work with architect to determine performance and reliability requirements of our products

  • Analyze test results, debug problems, and perform root cause analysis

  • Provide suggestions for code and infrastructure improvements and create test reports

  • Analyze performance behavior of applications to identify potential issues and bottlenecks

  • Ensures test environments are proactively investigated and technical issues are resolved

  • Ensures environments are designed appropriately to generate load against the application under test

  • Collaborate with developers and Architects on application and system performance impacts

  • Design and run extensive performance, load, stress, and scalability tests using industry standard tools

  • Develop benchmark workloads based on production traffic patterns and anticipated business features

  • Actively participate in continuous quality improvements for the product and processes with both automated and manual testing

  • Participate in improving QA processes to deliver good quality product by giving feedback on existing and newly introduced processes

  • Ability to be the voice of quality during testing, raising issues when needed, and highlighting risk

  • Assist QA Manager in creating status and progress reports and testing metrics as required and be able to train other QA Engineers on performance testing

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent

  • 5+ years of experience in a performance testing role and performance testing tools

  • Experience with analyzing application logs and various system utilization metrics

  • Experience with Application monitoring tools

  • Experience with performance testing for Web Applications, Mobile Apps, Microservices

  • Experience in testing applications built on architecture supporting Cloud computing Architecture

  • Proficiency with Load, Scalability and Endurance/Soak test methodology

  • Good understanding of SDLC and of Agile/Scrum software development processes

  • Working knowledge of API and Microservice testing

  • Working knowledge of relational databases; Oracle, MySQL, working knowledge of AWS, working knowledge of Selenium Web driver, Java, Eclipse, Cucumber, TestNg and Maven

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to work effectively in a team-oriented collaborative environment

  • A proactive approach to problem-solving, organized and determined with high attention to detail. Be detail oriented and strive for the best product for our customers
