Job Description:

Are you an experienced Construction Inspector who’s worked on high complexity municipal water and wastewater / pumping station projects? Parsons is currently seeking a Senior Construction Inspector to work on large scale Infrastructure at various locations across Southern Ontario. Projects include water and wastewater facilities, including pumping stations and tunnels, and development of other public infrastructure.

The successful candidate will conduct daily inspections to determine contract adherence and conformance with contract specifications. She/he will be responsible for construction inspection of new and retrofit wastewater pumping stations, including mechanical and electrical equipment, on existing projects. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and environmental regulations.

  • Maintaining detailed diaries and photographs to document daily construction activities.

  • Conducting inspection as per applicable inspection requirements, such as municipal inspection guidelines, and/or MTO’s Construction Administration and Inspection Task Manual.

  • Coordination of onsite sub-consultants and quality assurance material testing.

  • Reporting of installed quantities to verify applications for monthly payment and change order work.

  • Interpreting and conveying technical information between engineering support / engineering documents and on-site activities.

  • Maintaining office files related to the project, quantity calculations, and other documentation as required by the construction contract.

A combination of the following education experience is required:

  • Degree or Diploma in Construction Management or Civil Engineering, and/or combination of related experience

  • PEO registered or OACETT registered Road Construction Senior Inspector (RCSI)

  • 10+ years of experience in construction inspection with municipal water/wastewater projects or similar infrastructure projects.

  • Knowledge of applicable design standards, municipal specifications, and quality control / quality assurance material testing methods.

  • Knowledge to read and interpret mechanical and electrical specifications and shop drawings.

  • Effective organizational and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to utilize computer software such as MS Word and Excel

  • Must provide own transportation to and from job site.

  • Valid Class “G” driver’s license

  • Ability to lift 30kg.
