Job Description:
Are you seeking that next step to broaden your career scope, and work on large scale transportation projects in Ontario.
Parsons is now hiring for a Senior Highway Engineer with demonstrated experience on street, highway and linear infrastructure projects in Ontario. You will perform a wide variety of engineering tasks for highway, rail, and transit projects from feasibility studies, preliminary engineering, and final design to report writing and development of construction contract documents. You may perform in a task lead capacity and take responsibility for delivering assignments. Experience working with MTO or Municipalities within Ontario is essential.
Core Responsibilities include:
Lead the design on transportation focused projects and engineering tasks such as geometric design, engineering analyses, and project plan development.
Experience with design engineering of ramps, interchanges, intersections and roundabouts.
Experience with the modelling of road geometry using MicroStation/InRoads or OpenRoads and AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
Prepare engineering design plans, engineering computations, technical reports, specifications, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimates.
Assist the project manager in executing and delivering project assignments.
Manage and communicate with internal team and external clients/agencies.
Plan, lead, and supervise junior and intermediate engineers/designers on same assignments.
Lead and participate in project meetings as well as participate in site visits and field inspection, as required.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related field).
10+ years of experience working as a project engineer on highway and related fields.
P.Eng is required
MTO/municipal projects experience and knowledge of MTO/municipal standards, policies, and manuals.
Proficient in MicroStation/InRoads or OpenRoads and AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
Strong written and oral communications skills.
Ability to apply advanced engineering techniques and practices as well as solve complex engineering problems.
