As part of the mission of Project Management Construction Management (PM/CM) for the operation of renewal of rolling stock and operating systems for the metro of Marseille (Operation NEOMMA), Parsons is looking for a Signaling Engineer.

The Signalling Engineer will integrate the Parsons project team based in Marseille in order to manage the renewal of the interlocking system of the station and depot of La Rose Métro (LRM). This system is based on obsolete technology which needs to be replaced in order to interface with the future Automatic Train Control system (CBTC) and to implement necessary itinerary modifications.


The Signalling Engineer will analyse the existing documents of the previous phases of the project: DIAG, AVP and PRO of the renewal operation, and the Request For Proposal documents issued to the marketplace. He will propose if necessary modifications to the RfP during the negociation phases with providers.

In the continuation of the projet, the Signalling Engineer will pilot, under the supervision of the technical Director, the renewal operation of the interlocking system of La Rose Métro.

He will perform documentation reviews during the detailed design phase (Visa) and will follow-up the Installation, Test Commissioning phases (DET/EXE/AOR) planned until August 2021. He will also follow up the system during the warranty period for all technical matters.

He will report on the progress of the signalling work to the Director of the operation.

He will assist the system Safety Manager of the project for the Safety cases of the interlocking system and the demand of autorisation for revenue service to the French safety authority (STRMTG). He will also provide all necessary support to the project maintenance manager for the training of the operator.

Job potentials:

In addition to this initial mission, this position has a strong potential for evolution, in order to participate to Parsons ' future transportation programs in Europe. This may involve missions of work management or assistance to project management, or projects of design/realization in the field of Metro, Regional or High speed lines or tramways. The Signaling manager becomes the technical referent of the Parsons teams in Europe.


·Graduate from a higher education, ideally in the field technical engineering.

·Professional engineer / certified engineer.

·10+ years of experience in the field design and commissioning conventional signaling system, CBTC in metro or suburban/regional lines.

·Expertise on NS1 technology would be a plus.

·Knowledge of European regulation and standards.

·Rigor, autonomy, sense of organization and interpersonal skills.

·Professional mobility, location of the position : Marseille / France / Europe.

·Full time CDI contract.
