CONSTRUCTION MANAGER – WASTEWATER TREATMENT

Opportunity :

Parsons is a world-class leader in providing in-depth engineering, construction, technical, and management services. We are currently seeking to hire a Construction Manager capable of leading construction management efforts for major water/wastewater projects/programs in South Florida and throughout the state. Particular experience with large, complex water/wastewater treatment plant projects is a critical need. This position is based in Miami.

Scope :

Manages all on-site field construction activities associated with the completion of a medium-large size wastewater and water treatment plant projects. (Typically a project having 500,000 to 4 million construction manhours or a total installed cost of $50 to $150 million.) Applies a comprehensive knowledge of various disciplines to be used during construction, as well as the methods and techniques to be utilized for installation. Incumbent must become thoroughly familiar with required contractual obligations and technical aspects of all facilities to be erected. In addition to construction supervision, the incumbent is also responsible for field administration, procurement, and field engineering. Willingness to relocate to construction site locations is expected.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee construction contractor activities and direct construction inspection activities to ensure the safe, on time and on budget delivery of multiple, simultaneous complex projects.

  • Manage a large, diverse construction management team, including resident engineer(s), construction inspectors, start-up specialists, etc.

  • Coordinate closely with owners, designers, and other stakeholders on claims management and conflict resolution.

  • Prepare and implement Construction Management and Inspection Plans.

  • Attend and present construction management updates at regular meetings with owner, designers, and other project stakeholders.

  • Oversee document control, progress monitoring familiarity with electronic document control systems.

  • Provide constructability review and help coordinate construction schedules to avoid conflicts.

  • Ensure effective implementation of all Company and Owner policies and procedures.

  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

  • Good understanding of safety issues including OSHA regulations.

  • Proven leadership and management capability is also required, as well as good written and oral communications skills Qualifications: A 4-year degree in engineering or construction-related field or equivalent construction-related work experience, as well as 15 years or more of experience preferably with the construction and/or upgrade of water/wastewater treatment plant facilities; however, experience with large complex construction projects will also be considered. Experience in the construction of large municipal wastewater & water treatment system projects is essential.

  • PE licensure or CMAA certification as Construction Manager,is desirable.

  • Working knowledge of the water/wastewater treatment plant processes.

  • Experience with facility start-up and commissioning and project close-out a plus.

  • Basic knowledge of Primavera and Microsoft Project scheduling software and estimating.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel software.

  • Excellent Safety record.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of various disciplines to be used during construction, as well as the methods and techniques to be utilized for installation.

  • Proven experience in leading large, diverse Construction Management teams at large, complex projects, with a priority given to individuals with water/wastewater treatment plant experience

  • Strong leadership and management skills, as well as good written and oral communications skills.
