Want to take your Engineering expertise to the next level to work on tough projects that will make a huge impact? Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Instrumentation & Control Systems Engineer. As energy availability becomes increasingly critical, there’s no end to the scope and significance of your work. This role would require a person to live or relocate to Bakersfield, CA.
What You’ll Be Doing:
In this role you will be responsible for developing philosophy and designing equipment used to monitor and control machinery, processes and safety systems in the energy industry. The I&C engineer may also oversee installing, programing, managing, and/or maintaining the above systems. The I&C engineer will ensure that these systems and processes operate effectively, efficiently and safely.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring:
Designing and developing new control systems in the energy industry;
Specifying instrumentation, control valves, and process safety valves;
Testing, maintaining, and modifying existing control systems;
Analyzing data and presenting findings in written reports;
Developing communication, control philosophy, and cause and effect documents;
Developing control panel fabrication drawings and oversee work by designers and drafters;
Working collaboratively with engineers, designers, project managers of varying disciplines;
Liaising with clients, suppliers, contractors, and relevant authorities;
Project management within cost and time constrained environments;
Troubleshooting and problem-solving;
Understanding and ensuring compliance with the health and safety regulations, code and client standards, and quality standards of the area in which work is undertaken;
Representing controls at process hazard analysis studies;
Providing advice and consulting support.
What Desired Skills You’ll Bring:
Skills in specific control disciplines such as:
programmable logic controllers (PLC)
distributed control systems (DCS)
supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA)
basic process control systems (BPCS)
Safety instrumented systems (SIS).
Knowledge of process controls and process safety in an engineering environment.
Five plus years in semi-conductor clean room and/or factory floor experience specifying, designing and troubleshooting instruments, control panels, control philosophies, PLCs, and related technologies preferred
Experience with Allen Bradley, Siemens & Modicon PLCs, DCS, development of P&IDs and programming skills are a plus.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (or related field) and typically 8+ years of related work experience. Professional Engineer registration may be required.

Salary Range:
$83,300.00 - $145,800.00
