Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Remedial Systems Operations Manager to join our team! In this role you will get to manage a portfolio for multiple water treatment plant sites located throughout the East Coast. This is an opportunity to gain valuable experience and become a key member of our environmental team .

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Based on the East Coast, you’ll have the opportunity to work on remediation, water/wastewater treatment plant sites and operations and maintenance (O&M) projects

  • Manage overall operations

  • Responsible for the effective and successful management of staff, productivity, quality control, and safety measures for operational sites

  • The experienced operations manager will ensure safe and efficient operations.

  • Serve as a company representative on regulatory issues

  • Gain an excellent understanding of treatment systems and operation manuals

  • Work with vendors and suppliers to keep treatment systems running efficiently and work towards system optimization

  • Work with team to troubleshoot equipment and determine best maintenance practices

  • You will apply your technical experience in soil and groundwater remediation and remedial systems to develop work delivery strategies, lead teams conducting field work at active manufacturing facilities, and draft work plans and reports while championing safety, quality, the well-being of your team, and client focus

  • You will manage project teams that include field and writing staff, senior technical consultants, onsite operators, and technical subject matter experts, with support from Parsons internal management, to deliver a variety of environmental projects

  • All projects need to be delivered with high safety, compliance, and quality standards expected by both Parsons and our client

  • Independently develops and/or supervises the creation of engineering products that meet customer quality requirements. This includes defining the problem, establishing the work scope, preparing the budget and schedule, planning the work, providing technical direction, and reporting the work status

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in geology, environmental engineering, civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, environmental science, or other closely related technical degree typically 10+ years of related work experience.

  • Experience conducting site investigations/characterizations, remedial investigations, feasibility studies, engineering evaluations, remedial designs/actions, and installing, optimizing, operating, and maintaining remediation systems

  • HAZWOPER certification or ability to obtain and maintain

  • Ability to plan, perform, and oversee field work

  • Experience with direct client interaction

  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with clients, contractors, and teammates

  • Proven organizational, communication, interpersonal, negotiation, leadership, and analytical skills

  • Experience with small, medium, or large-scale client environmental consulting projects, including environmental compliance projects, and representing clients to stakeholders including regulatory agencies

  • Familiarity with state and federal regulations and regulatory processes

  • Experience with permitting, environmental regulatory compliance, conducting site trainings, managing EMS, and subcontractor oversight

  • Regulatory familiarity with O&M requirements and/or internal and regulatory auditing and/or waste identification and characterization requirements

  • Regulatory familiarity with environmental reporting, spill prevention/planning, stormwater, water discharge, emissions, waste generation and reduction, carbon reporting, and/or internal and regulatory auditing

  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude with strong technical and problem-solving skills

  • Understanding of Maryland and New Jersey environmental and water/wastewater regulations

  • Ability to travel occasionally

Salary Range:

$83,300.00 - $168,700.00
