Got a good eye for detail? Ready to put your emerging inspection skills to work on urban construction projects? Parsons is now hiring Associate Inspectors with a great attention to detail to join a rapidly growing team, which will enhance the urban fabric of our community in New York City.

These rail systems may includeinstallation of digital signage, electrical sub-panels, conduit routing, aswell as other aspects of work involved in a transit agency electrical project.

The position is located in the New York Area and will require significant time working in the field.

The selected candidates will be performing field inspections during the evening and weekends after hours.

You will be inspecting various facets of work at our client jobsite and performing continuous surveillance of assigned inspection activities to ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and specifications, as well as ensuring construction compliance to all safety and quality procedures. You will be required to document any nonconformance and will recommend appropriate resolutions to any non-conformities.

Qualifications

  • 2-year degree in a technical discipline or construction-related field, or a high school diploma and equivalent work experience required

  • 3-5 years of related experience on heavy construction projects

Construction safety training including valid OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety Certification is required

Must be able to read and interpret plans and specifications, be totally familiar with construction-related processes related to area of assignment,

Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing; to follow oral and written instructions and prepare written messages and reports.

Capability to perform math calculation in order to prepare engineering calculations, graphs and charts. Proficiency with basic computer usage, knowledge of Microsoft Office, and internet search engines (like Google or equivalent) required.

Requires ability to climb ladders, inspect work above ground, and work in confined spaces.
