Parsons is now hiring an experienced Senior Project Manager with a desire to work on creating innovative, practical solutions to various highway projects including road and bridge design, construction engineering and inspection projects in Georgia.

Parsons’ extensive experience in this field, combined with your 15+ years of experience coordinating complex transportation projects through all phases of project. We need our Project Managers to be versatile, enthusiastic to work in highly flexible, team-oriented environments that have exceptional communication, analytical and organizational skills

In this role you will provide direction and management for small to large scale projects, and ensures on-schedule completion within or below budget in accordance with contractual obligations. Our Project Managers are responsible for the scope development, scope management and commercial performance of the project to meet project goals and objectives.

We need our Managers to run the day-to-day business operations, staff, projects, and project pursuits in the State of Georgia.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Plans and defines program goals and devises methods to accomplish them and develops in-depth knowledge of client objectives, contract terms, and corporate policies.

  • Identifies new project pursuits, gathers intelligence regarding these pursuits, leads Parsons’ pursuit process, and responds to client requests for proposals/qualifications. May act as the project manager for successful pursuits or supervise other employees in a project management role.

  • Should be familiar with the integration of engineering/technical aspects, as well as procurement and construction activities

  • Acts as the Company representative with the client and selected team members during the program execution. Negotiates changes to the scope of work with the client and team members. Markets and secures additional work with client. Responsible for following up on instructions and commitments associated with the project. May participate in negotiations with regulatory agencies and in public meetings in support of clients.

  • Establishes the project requirements for all areas of the project, and monitors the draft and final deliverables for adherence to the project requirements.

  • Provides staffing plans for all employees in the state and ensures staff are assigned to projects. Performs performance reviews for direct reports and provides input into the annual salary planning process. Participates in performance improvement plans for employees as required. Identifies employees for recognition and nominates employees for various company programs.

  • Mobilizes company resources, through liaison with support departments, other offices, or subsidiaries, to create project teams capable of completing effective, quality work. Discusses the qualifications required of the key project positions in specific detail with the profit center and department managers. Collaborates with the office facilities staff to address project space requirements.

  • Plans, directs, supervises, and controls the execution of all business, technical and administrative functions of the assigned project.

  • Oversees establishment of Project Execution Plan, Health and Safety Plan, Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan, and other documents as required.

  • Promotes technical and commercial excellence on the project through application of Quality Assurance processes. Monitors and reports to management on the progress of all project activity within the program, including significant milestones, and any conditions, which would affect project cost or schedule. Establishes weekly meeting to review project status and formulate action items.

  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 4-year degree in Engineering or related technical/business field and 15+ years of related work experience with road highway projects is required .

  • Incumbent should have a broad general technical and business background, as well as previous project management experience on similar or related projects.

  • Demonstrated strong, successful relationships within the transportation field in Georgia , and in particular the Georgia Department of Transportation.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES :

Incumbent must meet Parsons’ project management certification requirements. Proven ability to perform in a management capacity, excellent written and oral communications skills, and a thorough knowledge of industry practices.
