Parsons is now hiring fully qualified professional Virtualization/Infrastructure Sustainment Engineer SME , proficient in utilizing engineering theories and practices with a passion for providing technical support on a variety of highly complex tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Possesses the ability to communicate technical knowledge and direction through briefs, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), test plans and reports, System Operational Verification Tests (SOVTs), implementation plans and other documentation as well as participate in technical reviews of these deliverables

  • Possesses a solid understanding of virtualization configurations to include Citrix and VMware

  • Possesses the ability to troubleshoot existing systems, test new systems/configurations in a lab environment, and actively participate in technical meetings

  • Can build, secure, migrate, implement, and document virtualized server solutions in an environment that supports VMWare hosting of Windows/Linux and other applications on an enterprise network that utilizes SAN technologies and BMC monitoring solutions as well as Citrix VDI implementation

  • Configures and administers all components of Citrix infrastructure including application publishing, system monitoring, troubleshooting, end user support, license monitoring, and system documentation

  • Provides on-going support of installed Citrix and VMware application systems including resolution of application systems incidents, root cause analysis of problems, impact analysis and planning of proposed system upgrades and patches

  • Possesses the knowledge and ability to ensure systems are in compliance with DISA STIGs and ACAS requirements

  • Troubleshoot technical problems by analyzing the problem and applying a methodology to resolve the problem independently

  • Provides technical assistance and training to end users

  • Possesses strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community

  • Possesses the ability to provide recommendations to facilitate enhancements of existing technology using the STACC Enterprise Change Request (ECR) process

Qualifications:

  • BS degree and 5+ years of related professional experience.

  • Eight (8) years of experience will be accepted in lieuof the required degree.

  • Minimum DoD 8570.1 IAT Level II certification requirements

  • Citrix Certified Professional – Virtualization (CCP – V)

  • Experience with Citrix

  • VMWare Certified Associate (VCA) or VMWare Certified Professional (VCP)

  • Experience with VMware ESX

  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2008/2012, Windows 7, and all common server and workstation applications

  • Experience with storage solutions (NetApp, VMware, Nutanix)

  • MS Exchange

  • MS SQL

  • Top Secret Clearance

  • Proof of U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is required due to government or federal requirement.
