Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Associate Civil Engineer to join our Rail and Transit team! In this role you will get to apply basic training from your College Degree program in Civil/ Structural Engineering to real world design projects for BART, California High Speed Rail, LA Metro Rail, and other Western USA projects. This position is based in the Bay Area in our Oakland, California office. Hybrid remote work may be allowed for this role ( meaning the ability to work from home 1-2 days per week).

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Design of light rail, transit, and high speed rail system projects using Microstation , Autocad and other software

  • Learn design and engineering techniques under the mentorship of engineers

  • This includes defining the problem, establishing the work scope, preparing the budget and schedule, planning the work, providing technical direction, and reporting the work status.

  • Typical products may include detailed calculations, drawings, procurement documents, design and installation packages, proposal evaluations, technical reports, and detailed analyses.

  • Provides support for other engineering activities as required.

  • Learn more advanced engineering as your training progresses

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • 4-year degree in Civil Engineering (or related field) is required

  • 0-2 years of related work experience.

  • In addition, an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate is preferred.

  • Any internship or work experience with rail & transit projects is highly desirable .

  • Requires basic process engineering knowledge, as well as a working knowledge of CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Demonstrated aptitude for CAD design software for engineering

  • Sold communication skills and ability to work with teams

  • Willingness to work in an office based environment for mentoring

Salary Range:

$23.27 - $40.72
