Are you seeking a Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, and/or Construction Management role that would expose you to a wide variety of engineering and construction assignments on both large complex projects and small developmental pursuits? Parsons is seeking to hire multiple Associate Engineers in the San Francisco Bay Area, in the fields of Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, and/or Construction Management, to work on variousmass transit and transportation systems projects. Associate Engineers may perform a wide variety of engineering, design, and development assignments by applying basic engineering principles and analyses, doing detailed design activities such as producing specifications and drawings, applying structural and other calculation techniques, requirements discovery and analysis, conducting field survey and inspection work, configuring and providing written inputs to related documentation, and doing other tasks within the civil engineering, structural engineering, and construction management disciplines. Assignments will typically serve multiple goals including fulfilling project/customer objectives and providing opportunities for professional growth. Associate Engineers shall be capable of learning quickly and becoming an integral part of systems and facilities engineering teams on both large and small scale projects.Successful candidates will be able to maintain high personal productivity while working interactively with other team members and client groups.

It is expected that the Engineer Associate will have interest, experience, or aptitude in one or more of the following specialty areas:

  • Civil and structural design and drawing

  • Functional and detailed design specifications for procurement and construction

  • Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD), 3D and Building Information Modeling (BIM)

  • “Smart Buildings” - Advanced, technologically integrated and buildings and structures in coordination with other engineering disciplines, including building telemetry and sustainable technologies

  • Complex purpose-built structures and industrial engineering

  • Engineering support during construction (ESDC) including contractor submittal review and management of requests for information (RFIs)

  • Resident engineering and office engineering at construction site

  • Environmental impact analyses, energy efficiency, and related work

  • Advanced construction methods including innovative concrete and other non-traditional materials and techniques.

Associate engineers are encouraged and supported by Parsons to attain engineer-in-training (EIT), professional/structural engineer (PE/SE), Leadership in Energy Environmental Design at ( LEED), and other professional certifications while working at Parsons, under the guidance of more senior engineers. Parsons offers a generous bonus program for first attainment of professional engineer and other selected professional certifications. It is expected that Associate Engineers will make steady progress toward and obtain California Professional Engineer and California Structural Engineer certifications.

Willingness to travel to other Parsons office, project, supplier, client, or construction site locations is expected. Associate engineers should be comfortable and safe working in active railroad environments and construction sites.


Applicants must have a4-year degree in Civil Engineering or a related field and0-3 years of related work experience, or equivalent experience and qualifications. This is an entry level/junior engineer role.
