Parsons is now hiring for an Intermediate Highway Engineer with demonstrated experience on street, highway and linear infrastructure projects in Ontario. You will perform a wide variety of engineering tasks for highway and linear infrastructure projects from feasibility studies, preliminary engineering, and final design to report writing and development of construction contract documents. Experience working with MTO or Municipalities within Ontario is essential.
Core Responsibilities include:
Participate in transportation focused projects and engineering tasks such as geometric design, engineering analyses, and project plan development.
Experience with design engineering of ramps, interchanges, intersections and roundabouts.
Experience with the modelling of road geometry using MicroStation/InRoads or OpenRoads and AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
Prepare engineering design plans, engineering computations, technical reports, specifications, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimates.
Support the project team in executing and delivering project assignments.
Work with the internal team and external clients/agencies.
Collaborate with junior and intermediate engineers/designers on same assignments.
Participate in project meetings, site visits and field inspection, as required.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related field).
4+ years of experience working as a project engineer on highway and related fields.
P.Eng is required (or in progress)
MTO/municipal projects experience and knowledge of MTO/municipal standards, policies, and manuals.
Proficient in MicroStation/InRoads or OpenRoads and AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
Strong written and oral communications skills.
Ability to apply advanced engineering techniques and practices as well as solve complex engineering problems.
