Associate Civil Engineer – Road & Highway – Ontario , California
Opportunity :
Parsons Corporation has an exciting new opportunity for an Associate Civil Roadway Engineer to work with cutting edge road & highway transportation projects, and transit for our Ontario, California office in the LA area. You will perform a variety of engineering duties by applying basic engineering techniques and analyses within one discipline. The Engineer at this level is in a developmental mode, being trained under close supervision in the utilization of engineering theories and practices, and gaining exposure to Company procedures. This role will primarily support Caltrans projects in the greater Los Angeles area , inclusive of Riverside, San Bernardino, and Ventura Counties. The position may be office based in Ontario, but can allow for a hybrid remote working basis ( at the office 3 days per week). This position is open to new graduates !
Responsibilities :
Performs various road and highway engineering and design assignments requiring the application of basic principles and fundamental theories studied in a four-year university engineering program, and available data in the engineering field.
Will utilize Microstation to perform geometric alignments for road and highway projects.
Prepares or assists in preparing fundamental engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs for roadway and transit systems.
Assists in the preparation of detailed requisitions for material purchase, services, and subcontracts.
Under the guidance of a more senior engineer, assists in reviewing supplier drawing submittals and technical bid analyses.
Assists in the preparation and issuance of specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.
Provides input to CAD Designer/Drafters working on the same project.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Requirements :
A 4-year degree in Civil Engineering (or related field) and 0-3 years of related work experience. EIT is highly desirable.
At least 1 year of experience with Caltrans / California highway projects is desirable, but not required
Experience with Microstation or Autocad Civil 3D is highly desirable.
Skills/ Competencies :
Requires basic engineering knowledge in civil, or a related field. Familiarity with CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering is also required.

Salary Range:
$24.18 - $42.31
