Parsons Corporation Civil Engineering Technologist - Municipal Linear Infrastructure in Ottawa, Ontario

As PARSONS continues to grow our Water Business Sector, we are seeking to add a CAD Technician to enhance our linear and multi-discipline profile in Municipal Water/Wastewater/Stormwater Management infrastructure. The position will have a focus in the National Capital Region (NCR) to support our Mobility Solutions Team.
Our team is engaged in the design, contract management and project management of municipal roadways, land development and related municipal linear infrastructure. PARSONS have been actively involved in projects in the Ottawa area since 1956 and have a well-established team of experts that know how to solve our customers toughest challenges.
The ideal candidate for this position will bring their linear water/wastewater skills based on both current and past experience working with municipal clients in the NCR and across Canada.

The successful candidate will:
Produce conceptual and detailed drawings of diverse municipal infrastructure and demonstrate proficiency and design experience in the following areas: municipal roads, underground linear infrastructure included water facilities, sanitary sewers, storm/water drainage systems, grading and drainage, culverts, new land/site developments and upgrading of existing facilities, using MicroStation/OpenRoads Design CE;
Have good understanding of Municipal Design approval process including coordination and approval of works with private utilities;
Prepare contract quantities and cost estimates;
Prepare construction specifications and assist with preparation of contract documents as well as assist in the preparation of proposals;
Assist on co-ordination of drafting and design requirements with staff from other departments or offices, as required, when working on joint (multi-disciplinary) projects;
Interpret and ensure conformance to applicable standards and codes, as well as company policies and procedures;
Be able to use Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam Revu 2019;
Have experience in Contract Administration and/or inspections of construction of municipal infrastructure (as an asset);
Work to tight project schedules while ensuring quality of project deliverables;
Update drawings with as-built data; and
Print/plot engineering drawings and sketches.
Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology
CET/C.Tech designation is an asset
5-10 years of municipal infrastructure CAD design project experience
Strong attention to detail
Proficient verbal and written communication (French-English bilingualism is an asset)
Local experience preferred
