POSITIONOVERVIEW :

Performs a variety of business development activities within one geographic location or represents a specific industry emphasis over a broader geographic area.Typically, responsible for the smaller to medium-sized proposals/projects.

SPECIFICRESPONSIBILITIES :

Establishes and maintains client contacts.Strengthens current business ties; coordinates meetings between clients/potential clients and technical or other key individuals.

Keeps abreast of overall business trends, particularly the current business climate within assignment sector.Conducts surveys to determine promising areas of development.Follows up in a timely manner on all possible leads.

Assists in developing proposals for services in response to invitations to bid and provides guidance to proposal team.Is familiar with past contract terms and provisions and able to assist in adapting them for new work as appropriate.

Makes pricing recommendations based on experience and an understanding of the policies and goals of the Company.

Maintains comprehensive files of past successful proposal activity for research when new possibilities arise; may augment materials with data gathered from subsidiaries as applicable.

Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

PREFERREDEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

4-year degree in Engineering and Business education and at least 10-12 years of diversified experience, primarily within the business development realm of a large, multinational company, is required.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES :

A thorough understanding of proposal pricing, negotiations with potential clients, and the Company’s policies and business objectives, is required.Strong written and oral communication skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills, are also required.
