Under general supervision,providing expertise in application streaming and virtualization packaging / publishing for ES applications and related areas within engineering systems (E.g., enterprise systems support; integrated application testing and certification). The Engineering Systems Support Specialist performs advanced ES services that assure the engineering, design and operations functions for Parsons Global Business Units have access to effective and efficient engineering systems globally.


Prepares and publishes ES-related applications for timely delivery to the enterprise. Maintains publishing schedules and other documentation to track progress within budget constraints. Provides technical guidance to other ES support staff members.

Supports Parsons technical ES requirements for large systems and major subsystems, by packaging / publishing engineering and design applications to meet timely project delivery requirements. Identifies issues, questions and problems in developing or maintaining a large, complex ES system and works with individual team members and the client to resolve those issues successfully. Consults with other members of the ES team to identify and resolve questions, issues and problems related to specific design and engineering applications.

Analyzes Parsons immediate and long-term needs in the areas supported by their specialization and recommends appropriate engineering and design solutions that can best meet Parsons goals and business plans, either by upgrading existing systems or installing a new system.

Provides support in the delivery, administration, customization and maintenance of a new engineering or design applications; support in upgrading, modifying or enhancing an existing engineering or design application in the assigned area of expertise.

Guarantees the operability and interoperability of the ES system by providing technical oversight of core systems and servers that align with specific enterprise ES products, including licensing management systems and other core ES delivery systems.

Provide specialized discipline-specific configuration and commissioning services ranging from BIM to Plant Design Systems (as required). May also work with clients, subcontractors and business partners to develop, maintain and troubleshoot shared ES systems


4-year degree in Computer Science, information systems, engineering or related technical discipline, with experience in both engineering and IT. 8-10 years of progressive experience working with information technology and engineering systems, supporting technical architecture including virtual application publishing and delivery systems to meet specific ES-related business requirements is required.


Highly specialized knowledge of engineering and design applications, often related to a specific engineering discipline (E.g., Autodesk AutoCAD, Bentley Microstation, ESRI GIS, Intergraph SmartPlant, etc.


Microsoft Windows platforms (Server 2008, 2012, 2016, Windows 7 and 10), with a strong understanding of the registry, file system and environments. Professional experience with installing many Windows-based applications, including patches, updates, and system drivers. Firm understanding of various network topologies, along with firewalls, load balancers, switches, and routers.

IT and software deployment. Including, Server setup on Windows and systems configuration experience, including AD, LDAP, IIS, Java, SQL, and FTP. Application Packaging experience using application packaging tools such as Installshield, Adminstudio, Tivoli, SCCM.

Numecent Cloudpaging, App-V, Citrix preferred. Virtualization/application streaming deployment tools is a plus.


One or more of the following certifications: Microsoft Windows Operating systems (E.g., Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer); Virtualization Technologies (Numecent Cloudpaging, Microsoft SCCM,); Database Systems (SQL, MongoDB, Oracle); Industry-related AEC certifications such as BIM or LEED. Vendor certifications (E.g., Autodesk, Bentley, Intergraph and ESRI).
