Wastewater Project Manager – Pasadena, California

OPPORTUNITY :
Our Parsons Pasadena office in the Los Angeles area is how hiring a Project Manager to support project management and engineering in the field of water and wastewater treatment , with a focus on Process/Design on MBR (membrane bioreactor, Reverse Osmosis, Disinfection with UV or Chlorine)
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Lead multi-disciplinary project teams for our process engineering for municipal wastewater and water treatment recycling. Experience with Membrane bioreactor, reverse osmosis and UV or Chlorine disinfection is essential
Ability to effectively plan, organize and prioritize multiple projects and manage designs prepared by engineering staff as well as designs performed by sub consultants
Experience in the development of process flow diagrams, process descriptions, process mass and heat balances, and P&IDs.
Ability to conduct independent investigations and collect data.
Anticipate problems and develop solutions to overcome problems. Support business development effort.
Familiar with the function of regulatory agencies with experienced in interfacing among multiple agencies.
Conduct site visits to perform treatment process evaluations and assist with defining project scopes.
Prepare and compile technical memorandums, concept reports, and pre-design reports.
Identify design resource requirements and coordinate design team duties.
Initiate and manage the design of water and wastewater treatment plant systems, water conveyance and wastewater collection system projects, consisting of civil, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and structural components.
Effectively monitor and track project expenditures to ensure that budgets are adhered to. Monitor and track project schedules to ensure that projects are completed on time.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
4-year degree in Civil or Environmental or Mechanical Engineering and at least 12 years or more of project management and engineering experience in the field of water and wastewater treatment , process engineering for membrane bioreactors, and disinfection process is essential.
PE Licensed Civil / Environmental or Mechanical Engineering
Sound knowledge of treatment plant principals and their translation to studies, designs and construction of those facilities.
Knowledge in the areas of: (1) Hydraulic calculations, (2) Process calculations/computer simulations, (3) Environmental chemistry, and (4) Environmental biology.
Knowledge of various processes such as: headworks, chemical feed systems, primary clarifiers, aeration basins, secondary clarifiers, filtration processes, disinfection processes, anaerobic digestion, solids dewatering, digester gas management & cleaning, co-generation, and membrane processes.
Experienced in sewer and sewer rehabilitation design.
Familiar with process related environmental regulations and permitting issues.
Experienced in preparing and giving presentations to clients.
Good understanding of safety issues, including OSHA regulations.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project software.
Incumbent must meet Parsons’ project management certification requirements.

Salary Range:
$110,600.00 - $219,400.00
