Parsons Software Developers analyze, design, and develop computer software required to support hardware or technical service products. The successful candidate will select and implement appropriate development and support tools to ensure product performance, as well as test and debug related software. We are focused on providing our customers expertise to leverage their existing software and create new capabilities.
For this role, the Software Developer will analyze, design and implement advanced capabilities for armament systems at Picatinny Arsenal, NJ. The ideal candidate will have solid experience coding in C++ utilizing Agile methodologies, ideally with embedded systems. Experience with digital communications standards such as Variable Message Form (VMF) or similar technologies is a plus. The role includes validating existing software baselines against requirements and system documentation, and building software modules for new fire control systems with strong consideration for interoperability and software architecture openness.
Development of software modules for U.S. Army fire control systems in an Agile development environment
Requirements analysis and traceability
Software configuration management using Git or similar tools
Support periodic design reviews
Support sprint planning activities
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field
2+ years of experience in software engineering
Academic and on-the-job experience developing in C++ and related languages such as Python, C, C# and Java
Experience using Atlassian tools (e.g. Jira, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Confluence)
U.S. citizen able to obtain and maintain an Active Secret clearance
Software development lifecycle experience (SDLC), especially within the DoD Understanding of, and experience working within, the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
Experience with or knowledge of U.S. Army fire control systems
