Job Description:

Parsons is currently hiring an experienced Control System Engineer whose role will be essential to the design, implementation, and delivery of high performance, secure, mission critical solutions. We seek engineers that are versatile, display leadership qualities, and are enthusiastic to tackle new challenges as we continue to provide the military with cutting edge tools. For this position, the Engineer will analyze, design, and implement advanced capabilities for armament systems at Picatinny Arsenal, NJ. The role includes design and implementation of turret control, stabilization, interface and drive systems integration.

Responsibilities:

  • Requirements development, maintenance, analysis and traceability

  • Authoring design, interface, and user documentation

  • Software configuration management

  • Support periodic design reviews

  • Support Agile sprint planning activities

  • Develop/maintain software requirements for motion control algorithms

  • Develop/maintain platform motion control algorithms using MATLAB and Simulink

  • Develop/maintain motion control dynamics models for algorithm development and stability analysis

  • Develop/maintain software validation tools using MATLAB/Simulink

  • Perform platform motion control systems calibration and testing

  • Perform software functional validation (System Integration Lab testing)

  • Develop/maintain motion control dynamics models for algorithm development and stability analysis

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field

  • 5 years experience, 3+ years of experience in control system engineering

  • Experience developing in C and/or C++, MATLAB, and Simulink

  • Experience with Development, Build and Configuration tools for example the Atlassian toolset (e.g., Jira, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Confluence)

  • Experience with dynamic platform motion control systems

  • Excellent organizational, communications, problem-solving and people skills, be a self-starter, and enjoy being part of and contributing to a hard-working team.

  • Must have the ability to quickly learn and creatively leverage new technologies.

  • Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and hold or be able to obtain a Secret security clearance. While a security clearance is not required, it may be in the future so candidates should have or have held a clearance or be clearable

  • Must be able to travel. Anticipated travel level 5%-10%.

Desired Capabilities:

  • Software development lifecycle experience (SDLC), especially within the DoD

  • Experience with Government standards and procedures.

  • Understanding of, and experience working within, the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)​
