Parsons seeks a Senior Software Engineer to join our development team building Java-based applications that enable users to manage tactical data supporting a Common Operating Picture and Fire Support capabilities for our government customer. The engineer will also be responsible for building reusable, extensible components as the building blocks for developing these and related applications.
What You'll Be Doing:
Develop software leveraging Spring Java Framework
Leverage Java Swing to create window-based applications and reusable components
Work on efforts where there’s a core team delivering capabilities to other development teams to extend and integrate
Work on applications and components that integrate with COTS messaging solutions such as RabbitMQ
Develop applications that leverage a Data Service layer that implements REST or Java Endpoint
Publish software projects for external consumption, or have made significant contributions to existing open-source projects
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
A degree in Computer Science or a related field, or have equivalent work experience with demonstrable capabilities and results
Proficiency in modern software build and CI/CD tools, such as Jenkins, Gradle, Maven and Nexus
Experience using Git (or a Git-based implementation such as Stash, Bitbucket, GitHub) in a collaborative production environment—especially on a large-scale software project
Experience with and are comfortable using non-Windows (Linux, Mac OS X) platforms for software development
Experience with Agile or Scrum development methodology
Experience with Atlassian products such as Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Fisheye, Bamboo
